It is always a thrill to be able to perform at a new venue. This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of playing at the wedding of Nashira Young and Josh Pearl at the beautiful historic Congregation Emanu-el B’ne Jeshurun synagogue in Milwaukee, WI. The synagogue, which has been around for over a century and a half, has been beautifully updated with modern green technologies. The beautiful design focuses on the surrounding landscape, reduces energy use, and still retains the capability to accommodate more than one thousand congregants.
The wedding’s chupah ceremony took place in the beautiful sanctuary with the reception to follow in the synagogue’s social hall. We kicked off the reception introducing the bride and groom, and proceeded to play a 45-minute Hora to a packed dance floor, where guests danced to our lively and spirited Jewish music repertoire. As the wedding continued, we wrapped up the Jewish music portion of the evening with the Mezinka – the song and dance played when the final child in a family is married off. We then moved into our secular playlist to finish off the event. A great time was had by all.
